Ultra-Processed Food Consumption and Risk of Chronic Respiratory Diseases Mortality Among Adults: Evidence From a Prospective Cohort Study

Ultra-Processed Food Consumption and Risk of Chronic Respiratory Diseases Mortality Among Adults: Evidence From a Prospective Cohort Study

Source : https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38413485/

UPF consumption was associated with an increased risk of CRD mortality. The association between UPF consumption and lung cancer mortality is inconclusive and only significant when multiple imputation was applied.

The risk of mortality from chronic respiratory disease and COPD increased by 10% and 26% respectively, among participants in the highest quintile of ultra-processed food intake compared with the lowest quintile.

Traditional and Advanced Echocardiographic Evaluation in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease: the Forgotten Relationship

Traditional and Advanced Echocardiographic Evaluation in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease: the Forgotten Relationship

Source : https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38412881

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a significant preventable and treatable clinical disorder defined by a persistent, typically progressive airflow obstruction. This disease has a significant negative impact on mortality...

Echocardiography should be employed more frequently in assessing COPD in patients because it may aid in discovering previously unrecognized heart abnormalities and selecting the most appropriate treatment to improve symptoms, quality of life, and survival.

Compartment-Specific Remodeling Patterns in End-Stage Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease With and Without Severe Pulmonary Hypertension

End-stage COPD with severe PH is characterized by pronounced pulmonary vascular remodeling, less inflammation of small airways and less emphysema as compared to COPD with mild PH or no PH,...

Severe pulmonary hypertension (PH) was associated with pronounced vascular remodeling, but relatively mild emphysema as compared with mild PH.

Compared with HFNC alone, BGF MDI combined with HFNC can effectively regulate the arterial blood gas status of elderly patients with COPD and respiratory failure, restore pulmonary function, and improve...

After treatment, the partial pressure of arterial carbon dioxide, residual volume, and APACHE II scores in the 2 groups decreased compared with those before treatment, with the study group lower overall.
