Did you know?
The dual bronchodilator combination of a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA) and a long-acting beta-2 agonist (LABA) delivered once daily in a single inhaler has demonstrated superior lung function improvements over either monocomponent alone in the large Phase 3 TONADO program (n=5,162 patients). Both LAMA/LABA doses significantly improved FEV1 AUC0–3 and trough FEV1 vs. the individual components in patients with moderate to very severe COPD, and the 5/5 μg dose also produced statistically significant improvements in St George’s Respiratory Questionnaire total score.

From a managed care perspective, how do single-inhaler dual-bronchodilator regimens affect medication adherence and simplification of COPD therapy versus multiple-device regimens?
